It’s about 491km from Lusaka to Livingstone and I did….
139km to Mazabuka
165km to Choma
187km to Livingstone
A total of 18,653km so far…
The first day involved two big hills, the second a long gradual climb and the third a gradual descent. All of it was constantly up and down so three tough days.
Livingstone Backpackers was a great place to rest and Victoria Falls, which was running very strongly (the rainy season has filled the Zambezi which crashes down millions of gallons of water per second) was stunning, beautiful and just being near it soaked me to the skin. The scale of this, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, is breathtaking and the plumes of water vapor pour down on you like a shower as you cross the bridge. The sheer size and power is something worth witnessing and one for everybody’s bucket list.
